“Should Play Till 50”: Yograj Singh’s Stunning Verdict On Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma Test Retirement

While Indian cricket farewells to two of its great moderns, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma of the test arena, the former cricket player Yograj Singh shared his emotional and critical point of view of their retirement. While addressing Ani Wednesday, the father of the former versatile of India Yuvraj Singh thought about the potential emptiness that the two pillars leave behind. “Virat is a big actor, so it will obviously be a loss,” said Yograj, stressing Kohli’s stature and influence in the longest format of the game.

He made parallels with the transition phase of India in 2011, adding: “When many players were withdrawn, withdrawn or praised in 2011, the team collapsed and has still not reassembled.”

Although he recognized that “everyone’s time comes”, Yograj thinks that Kohli and Rohit still have a cricket.

“I think a lot of cricket is still left in Virat and Rohit,” he said.

Thinking about the release of his son Yuvraj Singh of the international cricket, Yograj pointed out: “I said to Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) that it was not the right decision when he retired. You have to move away from the field when you can’t walk.”

Yograj did not hesitate to criticize the current trend of excessive dependence on young people, warning that a lack of experienced leaders could destabilize the team.

“If you are training a team full of young people, it will always collapse,” he said.

“Perhaps Virat thinks that he has nothing more to achieve,” he added, suggesting that interior satisfaction could have influenced Kohli’s decision.

Turning his attention to Rohit Sharma, Yograj was particularly vocal, suggesting that with the right support, the Indian skipper could have extended his red ball career.

“I think Rohit Sharma needed only one person to motivate him daily, for example, to run at 5 am,” he said.

“Rohit (Sharma) and Virender Sehwag are two people who have retired too early,” he added.

“The biggest players should play up to 50 years … I am sad about their retirement because no one is left to motivate young people now,” said Yograj, showing his disappointment.
