Lucknow Super Giants Pace Sensation Mayank Yadav was excluded from the 2025 IPL after taking another injury. Mayank, who took the spotlight after its record delivery of 156.7 km / h during the IPL 2024, missed the first half of the new season due to an injury. He played 2 games for Lucknow’s Super Giants after his return but was excluded once again. According to a report by Times of India, an official accused the LSG of ignoring his “swelling of the back” and of precipitating it after the initial injury.
The official continued by saying that the Center of Excellence (COE) and the franchise had not followed the procedure due during the manipulation of the Pacer injury and were only “check boxes” in his case.
“For a launcher who had such a long absence of the game, it is surprising that it took the CEE that 10 to 12 sessions to give it a green signal. A third of these sessions were at a reduced intensity and he started bowling at only 80-85% towards the end of March” India time.
“You get a true image only when you operate in Full Tilt, then take enough time to assess how the body responds to the increase in the workload. This workload is gradually increased to observe and assess how the body reacts to different levels of intensity. With Mayank, it seemed that simple boxes were checked,” added the official.
Mayank played two games for LSG where he returned with figures of 2/40 and 0/60. However, he could not continue when LSG signed the will of New Zealand O’Rourke as its temporary replacement.
“There was a discussion in LSG on this subject. Mayank was asked about his drop in rhythm and non-match activities. Added.
