Arne Slot’s Mind On Next Season But Tight-Lipped On Jeremie Frimpong Pursuit

Arne Slot refused to comment on the reported by Liverpool of the Bayer Leverkusen defender, Jeremie Frimpong, but the boss of the Reds is already working on plans to make the Premier League champions even stronger next season. Slot could afford the luxury of a trip to Ibiza this week with the 20th high flight title in English from the club of the club of the club. Liverpool went to Brighton on Monday before welcoming Crystal Palace on the last day of the Premier League season. Their cruise to the title allowed the Dutch to start early on the preparations for next season.
Liverpool would be concluded an agreement for the Dutch rear worker Frimpong to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will leave his childhood club at the end of the season at the end of his contract.
Florian Wirtz’s Froimesen teammate in Leverkusen was also linked to a move to Anfield.
But Slot said he would not comment on potential signatures before the conclusion of transactions.
“We are not talking about the players we want to bring in public until they sign,” he told journalists on Friday.
“Even if you celebrate there (in Ibiza), it does not mean all day that you do not think of something else.
“A larger part of my mind is already in the next season, that it would have been if the next two games were still decisive for us.
“This is a normal situation that my thoughts, if I’m on the sofa tonight, are more in the next season than they would have been if the matches were still very important.”
The right back of England Alexander-Arnold may not be the only player to leave in the coming months.
Caoimhin Kelleher, Kostas Tsimikas, Harvey Elliott, Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa are among those who are confronted with an uncertain future.
The Italian striker Chiesa had a hard time having an impact, although he was the only new signature of the first season of slot in charge.
But Slot insisted that the former Juventus star was just unhappy to be against the Mohamed Salah form, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo in the battle for one of the two large roles attacking in his team.
“Unfortunately for him, he’s in competition with Mo Salah when it comes to the right wing, but I think he can also play as a leftIe, but he has Gakpo and Diaz,” said Slot.
“Is it (chiesa) good enough to play for us? Yes, he is. I always felt Diaz, Gakpo and Salah deserved the confidence I had in them and I almost never changed this configuration between the three.”
