Mohamed Salah Slams ‘Harsh’ Liverpool Fans For Jeering Trent Alexander-Arnold




Mohamed Salah criticized fans of Liverpool “hard” for having Hue Trent Alexander-Arnold during his first appearance after announcing that he would leave the Premier League champions at the end of the season. Alexander-Arnold should largely join Real Madrid once his contract expires in June. The right rear of England, which revealed its decision to leave its childhood club last week, was mocked by supporters of Liverpool when it appeared in the second half in the 2-2 draw Sunday against Arsenal in Anfield.

Salah said on Friday that he was saddened by the taunts intended for Alexander-Arnold, who had two games as a Liverpool player against Brighton on Monday and Crystal Palace on May 25.

“Absolutely. I was surprised because this is not how we act as Liverpool fans,” said the attacker in Egypt in Gary Neville in a Sky Sports interview.

“I think fans were hard with him. I think he didn’t deserve him at the time, he deserved fans to treat him in the best possible way because he gave everything to the fans.”

Salah was also involved in an extended contract saga this season, but finally committed its future to the Reds by signing a new two -year agreement.

Calling Liverpool fans to give Alexander-Arnold a farewell more respectful in his last two games, Salah said: “Imagine someone who gives you everything for 20 years. It shouldn’t be like that.

“I hope this will change the next match, against Brighton or in the last game of the season because he deserves goodbyes.”

Alexander-Arnold, born in Liverpool, who made his first team debut in 2016, made 353 senior appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, scoring 23 goals.

The 26 -year -old won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup with the Reds.

Salah admitted that it would be emotional to say goodbye to one of his close friends at the end of the season.

“I said to him yesterday, don’t give me visual contact in your farewells. I really like him. I think he deserves the best goodbye leaving the club,” he said.

“He did a lot for the city and did a lot for the club and he is probably one of the best players in the history of the club. He gave everything.

“I think he needed a new challenge. He told me about it. He’s his decision for sure. He is 25, 26 years old and won everything two or three times. What did he do more?”
