“Got Themselves To Blame”: Aaron Finch On KKR’s Elimination From Playoffs Race

While the reigning champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, were eliminated from the disappearance for a place in the playoffs after their match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru was washed, the former Australian cricket player Aaron Finch said that the team only went for their elimination. Saturday’s match was an essential match for KKR because they needed to win their two remaining games to reach 15 points and hope for a series of favorable results in other games, as well as substantial improvement in their net execution rate.

After a washing, with only one lonely point, the triple champions now have 12 points on 13 games.

“It did not start well for them. Andre Russell, being the video match he has been and has been struck too far in order for a long time for a large part of the tournament. It was simply not given the opportunities to influence the games as he can. They only made themselves blame,” said Finch on Jiohotstar.

Finch estimated that KKR kicked out after their two -counters defeat against Chennai Super Kings on May 7. In this match, in the stick first, KKR displayed 179 for 6, which looked enough on a sticky surface, but CSK widely dug to collect two points in an already lost season with them, while KKR saw their ambitions superior to take the first four.

“They almost struck after this last match against CSK – it was theirs to win. The match was almost wrapped, and they still couldn’t cross the line, which turned out to be an incredible victory for Chennai. Throughout the season, there were too many moments when KKR just did not click,” added Finch.

While KKR is outside the playoffs after washing, RCB is now going to the top of the table after collecting a point that brings its count to 17 to 12 games.

KKR will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last League match on May 25.
