The final of the Indian Premier League 2025 will be held at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3, a report said. According to a Cricbuzz report, Ahmedabad will also host qualification 2 on June 1, while Mullanpur in New Chandigarh should host the first two eliminatory games – on May 29 and the eliminator on May 30.
These planning and location changes have been implemented mainly due to the start of the rainy season and the recent week -long suspension of the tournament in the middle of increased cross -border tensions between India and Pakistan.
The league was temporarily suspended on May 9 and resumed until May 17. The final, initially scheduled for May 25, has therefore been pushed more than a week until June 3.
It will potentially be the third time that the Narendra Modi stadium, the largest cricket arena in the world, will welcome an IPL final. The emblematic field previously welcomed the finals in 2022 and 2023. In particular, during the first season of the Titans of Gujarat in 2022, Ahmedabad was limited to two games due to the COVVI -19 protocols – these two being qualifying 2 and the final. The Titans won the title that year and the place kept the final in 2023.
The monsoon models having an impact on several parts of the country at the end of May, the board of directors opted for cities with historically drier climates to provide uninterrupted direct elimination matches.
To date, three teams have confirmed their place in the playoffs: Gujarat Titans, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Kings of Punjab. The last place remains to be won, with the Indians of Mumbai and the capitals of Delhi locked up in a close struggle for qualification.
