The head coach of the national team of India U23, Naushad Moosa, appointed a probable team of 29 members on Thursday for friendly matches in Dushanbe, Tajikistan next month. The India U23 team will face the Tajikistan U23 teams and Kyrgyzstan U23 in two games on June 18 and 21, as part of the Federation’s long -term plans to smooth a path to the senior national team. The team will place camp in Kolkata on June 1, where they will train before leaving for Dushanbe on June 16.
As part of the long -term plans for India U23s, the India Football Federation (AIFF) aligned camps and friendly matches for the FIFA international windows to prepare for AFC U23 ASian Cup qualifiers, which will be held later this year, and Asian games, which will be held in Japan in 2026.
The drawing of the qualifications of AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 will take place on May 29 at the AFC house in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Moosa was appointed head coach of the U-23 national male team on May 20.
“The June matches are very important in our trip to Asian games and the AFC U23 Asian Cup. This is an opportunity to assess the responses of pressure players, improve our tactics and build stronger links within the team. Our goal is to be fully prepared for these major tournaments by testing us against strong opposition, “he said.
