Sohail Khan announces comedy caper My Punjabi Nikaah starring Sanjay Dutt, Aayush Sharma and Annu Kapoor : Bollywood News
The filmmaker Sohail Khan should return to the director’s chair with his next feature film, My Punjabi NikaahA situational comedy lasting by a stellar set including Sanjay Dutt, Aayush Sharma and cancel Kapoor. The announcement was made by Khan himself via social media, where he revealed key details on the film, including the title and the casting.

Describe it as a comic book with clues of the gangster genre, My Punjabi Nikaah will also present a beginner’s actress in a main role, whose identity remains under Wraps for the moment. The film should bring a mixture of humor, drama and cultural quirks, while actually through a contemporary lens. Located in Punjab and Haryana, the story of the film will explore religious and cultural contrasts in a light way. The title suggests that the film will immerse itself in the traditions and the chaos of intercultural marriages, perhaps with a turn of Flair Underworld.
Speaking of the launch, Sohail Khan expressed his gratitude to several dignitaries who extended their support for the shooting of the film through Punjab and Haryana. He met the honorable governor of Punjab, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, as well as the chief ministers of Haryana and Punjab, Shri Nayab Singh Saini and Shri Bhagwant Mann, respectively. Khan described meetings as comforting and encouraging, especially for what he calls his “pet project”.
Although Sanjay Dutt portrays a figure larger than life, Aayush Sharma will be seen in a more anchored avatar and Boy-Nett-Door. The contrast between the two characters should serve as a major comic driver for the film. Currently in pre-production, My Punjabi Nikaah should go to the floors in the second half of 2025.
