The Skipper of Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni, broke his silence on his future in the Indian Premier (IPL) after the victory of his team over Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025 on Sunday. There was a lot of chatter surrounding the future of Dhoni after a disappointing show in the current season. Dhoni was a team captain in the majority of matches this season also after Ruturaj Gaikwad was excluded due to an injury. However, CSK ended up ending up despite the match on Sunday. Dhoni said he had “4 to 5 months” to decide on his future, but added that he was not saying that he would come back next season.
“It is good. I will not say that it was Houseful today. We did not have a good season, it was one of these perfect performance. We did not catch very well, but the capture was good today. It depends. I have 4 to 5 months to decide, there are no pressures. Need to keep the body fit. You have to be your best. If the crickets start to find their performance, some of them
“I will go back to Ranchi, take advantage of a few bicycle walks. I am not saying that I have finished, not saying that I come back. I have the luxury of the timing. I will think about it and then decide. When we started the season, the four games were in Chennai. We decided to beat the second, but I felt that the counter was good for the stick in the first round.
“We can put shopping on the board, but a few holes to fill. Ruturaj (Gaikwad) does not have to worry too many things next season. He will integrate in one of these roles. You feel old. He is exactly 25 years younger than me, who makes me feel that I am old,” said Dhoni during the post-Match presentation.
