The fire visuals were divided by the PTI news agency on its X account (formerly Twitter), showing the extent of the damage. The fire broke out before the day’s shooting started around 7 a.m. The Municipal Brihanmumbai Corporation (BMC) confirmed that its fire brigade had received an alert around 6 am. The cause of the fire is currently the subject of an investigation.

In the aftermath of the incident, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) published a strongly written statement condemning what it called “continuous neglect” in the application of fire safety standards on the sets. The association demanded the immediate suspension of the Director General of Film City and the Mumbai Labor Commissioner, alleging gross negligence and collusion that allow production houses to bridge compulsory security protocols.

AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal GUPTA also called the Maharashtra Chief Deputy Minister, will become Fadnavis, to order a high-level judicial investigation into the incident. In an article separated on X, Aicwa also allegedly alleged the possibility of a deliberate criminal fire for insurance fraud, demanding that the investigation also examines whether the fire has been intentionally fixed by producers or the channel to claim insurance money.

The association went further, urging the authorities to deposit a criminal FIR against producers, the production house, the broadcasting chain, the film City MD and the Labor Commissioner. He also demanded that any production house or channel found violating the fire safety standards be immediately put on black list.
