Greater Noida To Host Womens National Boxing Championship From March 21




The scene is planned for the action in Haut-Octana, because around 300 of the best boxers in India will compete for national glory during the 8th Elite Women’s National Boxing Championship, which takes place at the University of Gautam Buddha, Greater Noida from March 21 to 27. Organized in association with the UP Boxing Association, the national tournament returns to the site which organized its latest edition in 2023 with resounding success. Held under the guidelines of the World Federation of the World Boxing and Boxing of India (BFI), the championship is open to boxers born between January 1, 1984 and December 31, 2005.

Each state unit can align a maximum of 10 boxers, with registrations by figures closing on March 10 and confirmations of the final name due on March 15.

The action officially begins on March 20 with arrivals, the draw and the technical meeting. The first laps will take place from March 21 to 24, followed by the quarterfinals on March 25 and the semi-finals on March 26, leading to the highly anticipated finals on March 27.

“The national female elite championship was a breeding ground for future champions, giving young talents a chance to test themselves against the best. As the first nationals of the new Olympic preparation cycle, this edition will be crucial to identify and prepare boxers for the next three years, “said BFI Secretary General, Hemanta Kumar Kalita.

The tournament will follow a three -round format, each fight made up of three minutes from Tours with a one -minute rest period. The ten -point score system will be in place, and all the matches will adhere to the technical and world boxing competition rules. Boxers will also have to undergo a daily weighing throughout the competition.

Beyond the 300 boxers in competition, the championship will also bring together more than 100 coaches and support staff, as well as 60 technical managers, guaranteeing a high-level boxing show.

The reigning champions rail sports promotion board (RSPB) will seek to keep its title after a dominant performance in the previous edition, where they won five gold medals, silver and two bronzes.

RSPB pushed the Haryana of eight points, the latter finishing second with seven medals, including three gold medals, three Argents and a bronze.
