Vir Das REVEALS that he was offered Rs. 8 lakhs for his role in Love Aaj Kal: “I was the most EXPENSIVE background extra in history” : Bollywood News
Vir Das had an interesting conversation with Mayank Shekhar in mid-day where he spoke of many aspects, including his Bollywood career. At one point, he opened on what made him play a role without consequence in the star of Saif Ali Khan-Deepika Padukone Love aaj kal (2009).
Vir Das reveals that he was offered RS. 8 Lakhs for his role in Love Aaj Kal: “I was the most expensive additional background in history”
Vir Das said, “I really needed money because I was very short of money. It was then that I was offered Love aaj kal. I was informed that I was necessary for a single scene and that I would be relegated to the background in other scenes. I said, “I’m going to take it. I need money right now ”. The director Imtiaz Ali, who is a very nice guy who had already seen my deed, on his credit, warned me: “Vir, I tell you. It is not much (of a role). These are only 1 or 2 scenes on paper, then you will be there ‘. “”
Explaining what was his role in the film, Vir revealed: “If you watch, I have a scene in the film and in the song ‘Can we twist’There is a dancing guy on this side of Saif and there is a dancing guy on this side of Saif. When he was asked how much he had been paid for this, Vir replied: “I was the most expensive additional background in history (laughs). I was set up in London and I was paid Rs. 8 Lakhs, guy! ”
