“I am his legal wife”: Priya Sachdev questions Karisma Kapoor’s claim in Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 crores estate battle : Bollywood News
The legal battle on the succession of fire by the businessmen of the late Sunjay Kapur intensified, with his third wife Priya Sachdev making strong remarks against the actress of Bollywood Karisma Kapoor at the hearing of the High Court of Delhi on Wednesday, September 10.

As Hindustan Times reported, Priya’s lawyer, Rajiv Nayyar, argued that Karisma, the former Sunjay wife, has been absent from her life for more than 15 years. “I am his legal wife. The affirmations of love and affection – where all this was when they fought prolonged legal battles from divorce to the Supreme Court,” said the lawyer, adding that Karisma was “in sight” since their divorce in 2016.
The dispute acquired additional complexity following reports that Safira, Priya and Sunjay’s daughter abandoned her family name “Chatwal” and adopted “Kapur”. Industry observers suggest that change can be strategic, perhaps to strengthen its position in the inheritance issue.
Meanwhile, Karisma’s children with Sunjay – Samaira and Kiaan – also moved the High Court of Delhi, contesting the legitimacy of the alleged will of their late father. In their petition, they alleged that Priya forged the document, claiming neither the original nor a copy shared with them. They asked the court to give them access to the Testament.
Adding to family discord, Sunjay’s sister Mandhira Kapur recently alleged that their mother was locked up in a room by members of the Sona Comstar board of directors, a company related to the Kapur family, and was designed to sign paper without being informed of the details.
The case remains under judicial supervision, with multiple affirmations and reconvention requests emerging from different sides of the Kapur family.
