Nadiadwala Grandon Entertainment (NGE), one of the most respected production houses in Bollywood with an inheritance covering over 75 years, has published a strong declaration concerning the growing concern of practices contrary to ethics surrounding film criticism.

In an official note shared on social networks, NGE has clarified its unwavering support for freedom of expression and expression, declaring that society has never opposed – and will never oppose – fair criticisms or constructive criticism of its films. The declaration has recognized that honest comments are essential for filmmakers to grow and for the overall health of industry.
However, the studio revealed that it had recently encountered worrying evidence of extortion attempts. According to NGE, some people had demanded money and threatened to tarnish the reputation of films, directors and actors to drive if their requests were not satisfied. The production house has now returned the case to the investigative authorities, calling for legal action against those involved.
The company has also specified that its actions are not intended for real film critics, independent criticism or youtubers who contribute to a healthy cinematographic discourse. “We appreciate honest work and we welcome their contributions to the healthy progress of the film industry with all heart,” said the press release.
The note has ended with NGE’s insurance that, although constructive criticisms are always welcome, malicious practices that threaten the integrity of cinema will be firmly treated under the law.
The declaration was published by the legal advisers of NGE, adv. Ravi Suryawanshi and the bar and brief lawyers.
