Salman Khan recalls 7.5-year battle with “Suicide Disease” Trigeminal Neuralgia: “Took 750 mg of painkillers, underwent Gamma Knife surgery for nearly 8 hours” : Bollywood News
The Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan has made an emotional revelation on the Prime Video Two with Kajol and Twinkle cat, where he appeared alongside Aamir Khan. During the frank conversation, the 59 -year -old actor spoke of his long fight against trigeminal neuralgia, a condition often called “suicide disease” because of the unbearable pain that it inflicts. The disclosure pushed Kajol to tears.

Recalling the test, Salman said: “You have to learn to live with it. Many people face derivation surgeries, heart problems, and even more. When I experienced the neuralgia of the Trijumeau, the pain was … you did not want only to your worst enemy. I endured it for seven and a half years.
The actor revealed that even simple meals have become a challenge: “It would take me about an hour and a half to finish my breakfast, and I would go directly to dine. For an omelette, since I couldn’t chew it, I had to spend the pain, endure it, just to finish my meal. ”
Initially, many thought that his problem was linked to Dental. Salman shared: “I took about 750 mg of pain relievers, and even it did not bring relief. They thought it was a dental problem. I was asked when the pain would calm down. I replied that it would decrease a little after having had a drink or two, but it would come back at longer intervals. That’s when it was a nervous problem. ”
The actor retraced the first instance to the shooting of Partner (2007). “Lara was there. She brushed a wick of hair from my face, and I felt a jolt of pain. I joked: “Wow Lara, you are electrifying! This is the moment when it started, ”he said.
Speaking of treatment, Salman stressed how many patients are pushing many patients to despair: “The highest rate of suicides is one of those who suffer from this disease. 20-30%.
Salman had revealed his diagnosis for the first time in 2017 during the promotions of his film In tubeligoque in Dubai. The neuralgia of the trigeminal affects the trigeminal nerve, causing severe facial pain which can be triggered by daily activities such as chewing or brushing of teeth.
In a separate disclosure earlier this year in season 3 of the Great Indian Kapil Show, Salman also revealed that he had a cerebral aneurysm and an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) – serious conditions that require careful monitoring. A cerebral aneurysm is a bulge in a weakened blood vessel which can cause a potentially fatal hemorrhagic stroke if it is broken.
