Rajiv Rai made a comeback this year with the mystery of the murder Zora. He was released in the cinemas on August 8 and now he will be presented on YouTube tomorrow, that is to say on October 2. Rajiv Rai started by saying: “I did not succeed in making a good release for Zora because it is a short film. I did not have much budget to have it announced or put a lot of money. In addition, 4-5 films published the same day. Consequently, PVR had difficult programs of allocation.”
He also said: “Since the moment I made the film, I planned it for YouTube. I knew that no OTT platform would buy the rights because it is a non-star film. They buy only when there is a cast. Without a famous actor in the film, they would like to know the story.
Recently, Aamir Khan also jumped an OTT release from his film Sitaare Zameen by And released it directly on Youtube. Did Aamir Khan’s decision motivated him to take the plunge? Rajiv Rai replied in the negative and added: “In the past 4 to 5 years, it was always in my mind that I will put it on YouTube. But I didn’t know how to do it. So when Aamir Khan released Sitaare Zameen ByIt gave me a lot of encouragement and confidence. I was going to do it anyway. But if I had done it, that would not have made the headlines of the way Aamir Khan made the headlines. However, he made a last -minute decision. At first, he said he did not publish the film on any OTT platform. Then he immediately released the film on OTT. YouTube is like an OTT platform. So, I don’t know what was in his mind, but I’m glad he did. Therefore, I do not throw Zora on YouTube because of him. I had no choice; I did it for YouTube and to establish my channel.
While AMIR KHAN invoices RS. 100 to watch Sitaare Zameen by On YouTube, this will not be the case with Zora. Rajiv Rai revealed: “It will be available for free. There will be no cost to watch Zora on YouTube. ”
Zora ends in an interesting way with a promise of a suite, called Zora Zorawar. He will be released on January 1 and Rajiv Rai revealed that he will not arrive at all in the cinemas. He said: “I will take out part 2 directly on YouTube. Theater mein toh koi aata nahin hai picture dekhne. Then, what could I realize or prove by publishing part 2 in the cinemas? To publish the film in cinemas, you have to go through the censorship process, etc. It is a waste of time and money. »»
As a joking that “I ended up becoming a director of YouTube”, Rajiv Rai also said: “I am a great director and yet, I decided to make an RS film. Ready to take a risk.
He also exulted: “Although he was initially planned for YouTube, I made a dolby mix and I turned it in Cinemascope format. Everyone does it as we all know, we want our film to be cinematographic. When you see Zora On YouTube, you will realize that it is available in 4K. Dolby Mix will not be of any use (for YouTube visualization), but I have always gone forward in case a streaming giant wants to present it. I should be ready with the soundtrack.
Speaking of future plans, “now I don’t want to make films for cinemas. I’m not going to take risks. I’m not even going for collaborations. In addition, people do not offer me films as a director; they have never done it.”
He signed by declaring: “I don’t care what people say. I publish the film on YouTube. Jisko Dekhna Hai, Woh Dekh Lega. Jisko Nahin Dekhna Hoga, Woh Nahin Dekhe. I’m not here to prove a point. Whatever I can do, I did it. I thank my audience and thank Bollywood.
