After being acclaimed for his performance in Dhadak 2Siddhant Chaturvedi looked set to continue his momentum with Ramréea two-hero OTT project backed by Ajay Devgn. However, the ambitious period drama was reportedly shelved before hitting the floors.

According to a report from Mid-Day, Ramrée was conceived as a large-scale film set in 1945. The project, in development for over a year, aimed to blend historical events with cinematic storytelling. However, given the complexity of the setting and production demands, the film’s growing budget became a major obstacle.
A source close to the development told the publication, “For an OTT film, it would have set a benchmark in terms of scale and imagination, but budgetary constraints caught up with it. Although the platform’s executives were excited about the story, the financial stakes were too high. So they decided not to move forward.”
Another insider offered a different view, suggesting that Ramrée never reached the official green light stage. “A project is only considered approved when it is presented. Ramrée was a developing idea that did not progress – a natural part of the creative process where multiple concepts are explored. If some are taking shape, others are not,” explained the source.
The shelves of Ramrée comes at a time when Siddhant Chaturvedi is receiving praise for his recent performance in Dhadak 2released a few months ago. The film, starring Triptii Dimri, tells the story of Neelesh, a law student from a marginalized background, and Vidhi, an upper caste girl. Through their relationship, Dhadak 2 explores the harsh realities of caste discrimination and societal prejudice, earning the actor widespread appreciation for his nuanced portrayal.
