World Championship Silver-Medallist Boxer Amit Panghal Turns Professional

The only male boxer in India to win a silver medal in the world championship, Amit Panghal, has become the last in the country to become professional. One of the most accomplished male boxers in India, the 29-year-old signed with the Talent Management Company based in the United States Critical Sports and Entertainment. “Sports and critical entertainment is proud to announce the signing of the world renowned Olympian boxer Amit Pang, the agency wrote in an Instagram post. Development occurs only a month after the bronze medalist in the world championship Nishant Cuit also went to professional boxing.
“While he moves again in the professional ranks, Amit brings a rich experience, skills and a mentality of champion. We alongside the co-manager Connor Burke are honored to welcome him to the critical family of sports and entertainment and we are impatient to guide him on this next exciting chapter of his career.” The Haryana boxer, who participates in the 51 kg category of the amateur circuit, has not yet been awarded his first professional fight.
A former world number one, Panghal has won medals in all major international competitions with the exception of the Olympic Games.
Panghal dominated sport with gold medals at Asian games and Asian championships, as well as historic money at the 2019 world championships.
However, its international appearances have been limited in the past four years. After an early release from the Tokyo Olympic Games, Panghal lost his place in the Indian team.
He then won a gold medal at the Commonwealth 2022 games before qualifying for the Paris Olympic Games, where he was eliminated in the pre-district of Zambia Patrick Chinyemba.
With this movement, Panghal follows in the footsteps of the 2008 Olympic bronze medallist 2008 Vijender Singh, Vikas Krishan, Mandeep Jangra and Neeraj Goyat, who also moved to professional boxing after a good race in the amateur circuit.
