At the center of this controversy is 1xbet, an offshore platform prohibited by the Indian government in 2023 for the fluffing of game law. While the company and its avatars – often renamed like 1xbat or similar names – claimed to execute “skills -based games”, investigations have found rigged algorithms that assured that the players lost more often than they won, which makes it under the Indian game.

Despite the ban, 1xbet maintained a strong presence in India, thanks to aggressive marketing campaigns featuring high -level celebrities. The investigation is not limited to celebrities. The giants of Google and Meta technology have also been examined for the accommodation and promotion of Paris applications advertisements on their platforms. ED officials recorded the declaration of a Google representative in July, while Meta would have extended cooperation.

The challenges are enormous – the sources estimate that more than 22 Indian crores have downloaded or access to Paris applications, making it an Rs. 8.3 Lakh believes the industry which deprives the government of almost Rs. 27,000 crores per year in taxes. With the new promotion and regulation of the online games law this year, the authorities report a difficult position on dependence, fraud and endorsements supported by celebrities.

For the moment, all eyes are on the brightest stars of Bollywood and Cricket, while they are preparing to answer difficult questions about their association with applications that may have defrauded millions of Indians.
