After PBKS’ Historic Win, Shreyas Iyer Reunites With KKR CEO Venky Mysore

On Tuesday, the Punjab Kings scripted the story when they defended the lowest total of the 2025 IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mullanpur. After choosing to beat first, Shreyas Iyer and Co were taken for meager 111 and went to a shameful defeat. However, fate had other plans in store when PBKS has achieved an incredible burglary and overthrew KKR for 95 and won the 16 -point victory. While the celebrations were underway in New Chandigarh, the skipper of Pbks Shreyas Iyer found the CEO of KKR, Venky Mysore.

Iyer was rolled out by KKR during the 2022 mega auctions and was named Skipper. He missed the 2023 season due to an injury, but on his return in 2024, he guided KKR to the title. However, things have become ugly after the season, because KKR did not keep his winning captain and he joined PBKS at a huge price of Rs 26,75 crores.

After being released by KKR, Iyer said there was a lack of management from the management and he was really disappointed with it. Now, three months after this statement, Iyer and Mysore met in Mullanpur and the visuals of their meeting have become viral on social networks.

Earlier in January, Iyer had spoken of the KKR retention snob and how disappointed he had disappointed it.

“Admittedly, I had a fantastic moment to win the championship at KKR. The next fan was exceptional, they were electrifying in the stadium and I loved every moment that I spent there. So, obviously, we had a conversation immediately after the IPL championship. But for a few months, there was a dismissal and no concrete effort to have a conversation of detention. I was perplexed. Shreyas in an interaction with Indian Express.

On the other hand, Mysore said that Iyer was KKR’s “choice n ° 1” for the retention, but it was the decision of the striker to separate from the franchise.

“It was n ° 1 on our list (for retention). He is captain and we have to build everything around the leadership. We chose him for this specific reason in 2022,” said Mysore, speaking to Revsportz.

Mystore, however, revealed that the process of retention of the auctions is that which requires a mutual agreement, and which could not occur with Shreyas Iyer.

“What is fundamental for a retention is that it is a question of mutually acceptance. It is not a unilateral right that the franchise A, the player must consider various factors and agree,” said Mysore.
