According to a report. India will play a series of five -game tests against England from June 20, and the BCCI should announce the team on Saturday May 24. According to Espncricinfo, a member of medical staff of the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) went to Lucknow this week to assess Shami’s fitness level before the Hyderabad match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday.

It was not confirmed if the selectors decided to abandon Shami for the series. However, it is very likely that they will play safe and abandon Shami unless a favorable report comes from medical staff.

The 34 -year -old man remained away from the action on the ground for more than a year due to an ankle injury. Shami successfully recovered from ankle surgery in February 2024 but began to suffer from right knee pain, for which he asked for treatment.
