BCCI Breaks Silence On Virat Kohli’s Test Retirement: “Reached Out Early…”

The Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) highlighted the sudden decision of the star paste Virat Kohli to withdraw from the test cricket. Kohli delivered the new shocking earlier this month, a few days after the captain of India Rohit Sharma also announced his test retirement. On Saturday, the president of the selection committee, Ajit Agarkar, addressed a press conference before announcing the Indian team for the next test tour in England. During the presser, Agarkar revealed that Kohli contacted the BCCI in early April, after having already made its decision to withdraw from the format.

“Virat contacted in early April and said he had decided (to withdraw from the test cricket),” said Agarkar at the press conference.

Shubman Gill appointed the new Test of India test on Saturday while Rishabh Pant was appointed his assistant.

The decision of the selectors on the management of the team was on the lines expected after the retirement of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The young left -handed B Sai Sudharsan obtained his first test call.

The team also features Karun Nair, who returns to national installation after seven years. A notable exclusion was the Mohammed Shami stimulator, which was not considered fairly fit in the long series.

“Last year, we watched Shubman (for leadership). We hope he is the guy who goes (to advance the team). He is a high pressure work, but he is a great player. We wish him all the best,” said chief selector Ajit Agarkar after announcing the team.

On Shami, he added: “His workload is not where it must be. We hoped that it will be available, but it is regrettable. For the moment, it is not in good shape. From the tour in Australia, Harshit Rana and Sarfaraz Khan have been abandoned.

India Squad: Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Kl Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Nitish Redddy, Raviundi Jadeja, Dhurv Jurel, Washington Sundar, Shardul, Prasidhin Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh and Kuldeep Yadav.
