Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Meteoric Rise Sparks Calls for Caution and Care

At only 14, Vaibhav Suryavanshi stormed the world of cricket. The Bihar left prodigy became the youngest player to score a century in the 2025 IPL, achieving the feat in just 35 bullets for the Royals of Rajasthan against the Titans of Gujarat. His explosive striker made comparisons with legends and triggered discussions on his future. However, in the midst of the distinctions, the cricket pillars urge prudence, stressing the need to protect and feed this young talent beyond the field.

The rapid rise of Suryavanshi began when it was signed by the Royals of Rajasthan at the age of 13 for 1.10 crores, which makes him the youngest player to obtain an IPL contract. Its beginnings were simply sensational, marking 34 out of 20 balls, including a six on its very first delivery. The pinnacle came with his record century, making him the youngest Centurion in the history of the IPL and the fastest Indian to reach the milestone.

“The real challenge for him would be to face the questions, the questions without a cricket,” said Bangar. “At this stage, how can he stay away from all the media and the hoopla that will surround it? So, it is a major challenge. Apart from that, can it maintain the same type of game plan? Because it is something that remains true. Or maybe it has worked very hard, but there are apparent talents there. And it must remain true for that.

The cricket player who became commentary on Aakash Chopra shared his first impressions of Vaibhav Suryavanshi. “At the start, when you saw him – and I saw a lot of his clips and the clips you end up seeing before the guy played in IPL – the videos were all hit him, just standing and delivering, fast quisors, spinners, then you start to think that he may not have any other equipment. [age] Cricket group and all this. And then he marked this century, took the front of the stage, and during this century too, he struck. But now when you see him waiting patiently at the end of non-attackers and that’s exactly what happened today. Said in the Time Out show by Espncricinfo.

While Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to captivate the public with his performances, the fraternity of cricket remains vigilant. The consensus is clear: although its talent is undeniable, meticulous management, mentoring and an emphasis on holistic development are essential to ensure that this young prodigy achieves its full potential without succumbing to the traps that have been completed by the others before him.
