Carlos Alcaraz Downs Jannik Sinner To Win Italian Open In Roland Garros Warning




Carlos Alcaraz won the Italian Open on Sunday after defeating his Jannik Sinner 7-6 rival (7/5), 6-1 in the final and a warning shot for Roland Garros. Alcaraz, who will climb the world’s number two behind Sinner on Monday, won his third title of the season, finally dominating the sinner and silenced the more than 10,000 fans wrapped in the centered court stands. The Spaniard won the victory during his fourth final of the season and sent a message to the rest of the male tour for the French Open, where he will defend the title once next weekend. “Beat Jannik and win in Rome, I think the two mixed things give you great confidence in Paris,” said Alcaraz.

Earlier, Jasmine Paolini became the first woman since Monica Seles in 1990 to win the titles of Rome in single and double when she and Sara Errani defeated Veronika Kudermeto and Elise Mertens 6-4, 7-5.

Paolini obtained this victory of victories a day after overcoming the former champion of the United States Coco Gauff in two sets and becoming the first Italian woman to win the title of Rome in Simple since Raffaella Reggi in 1985.
