CBFC grants ‘A’ certificate to Kesari Chapter 2 starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday and R Madhavan : Bollywood News
With the countdown of its current theater release, Kesari Chapter 2 Officially obtained a “A” certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Starting Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday and R Madhavan, the film is now allowed to be released with an execution time of 135 minutes and 6 seconds – a little more than two hours and fifteen minutes.

According to the CBFC website, the film was certified on April 9, 2025. The note “A” suggests that Kesari Chapter 2 May present intense and perhaps graphic representations, as it explores one of the most turbulent historical events in India – the consequences of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
The drama of the courtroom has already aroused anticipation with its daring account and its impactful performances. Akshay Kumar embodies C. Sankaran Nair, the courageous lawyer who challenged the British Empire after the Massacre of Jallianwala Bagh. Ananya Panday plays Dilreet Gill, while R. Madhavan assumes the role of Neville McKinley. Simon Paisley Day depicts General Reginald Dyer – the officer behind the horrible events of Jallianwala Bagh.
Earlier in the day, Akshay Kumar unveiled a powerful poster on Instagram, where he is seen in a developed Kathakali outfit, jelly halfway through. In addition to the image, he wrote: “It is not a costume. It is a symbol – of tradition, of resistance, of truth, of my nation.
He added: “This April 18, we make the trial before the court that they have never taught in the textbooks.”
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2: The unprecedented story of Jallianwala Bagh is inspired by the book The case that rocked the empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. The film is produced by a formidable team that includes Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar, Adar Ponawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra and Anand Tiwari.
