Flawless Oscar Piastri Converts Pole To Win In Bahrain Grand Prix, Lando Norris Third

On Sunday, Oscar Piastri reached victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix of the Mercedes of George Russell with the teammate of McLaren Australian Lando Norris in third. Pole-Sitter Piastri kept calm in a race filled with an incident to give McLaren his very first victory in Sakhir during their 21st attempt. The trying weekend of Max Verstappen on the desert track ended with the quadruple world champion which only succeeded in sixth place. Norris leads the pilot ranking on 77 points, Piastri exceeding Victapn and second position before the next weekend race in Jeddah.

“It should be hell of a party tonight. Mega Weekend everyone. It was damn fun,” said Piastri after marking his 50th start in a perfect style.

Taking the checkered flag under spotlights a sweet Sunday evening in the kingdom of the Gulf was just a reward after a weekend that he had dominated, both in practice and in qualification.

Despite a race filled with impacts behind him, Piastri, who also won in China last month, crossed Russell’s line 15,499 second, which was investigated for a problem with the DRS (Drag Reduction System), which means that he could undergo a five -second penalty.

Charles Leclerc arrived fourth with his teammate Ferrari Lewis Hamilton fifth before Verstappen and Pierre Gasly won the first points of the year of Alpine at the fourth attempt.

Esteban Ocon (Haas) completed in the Top 10, recovered from a large Smash in qualification, Yuki Tsunoda in the second Red Bull and his teammate of Ocon, Oliver Bearman.

While the sun plunged on the Gulf, the lights died on the fourth race of the season with Pole-Sitter Piastri withdrawing its gloves early to push the Mercedes of Russell to have one.

Norris obtained a dream getaway, from sixth to the third to the muscle in the running after a disappointing qualification.

It was up to a message from Fia Race Control Warning that they were investigating the McLaren man to be “out of position” at the start.

While the officials deliberately deliberated Piastri published the fastest round to shoot more than two seconds away from the pursuit of Russell.

The planned news then crossed a five -second penalty for Norris, and was quickly “in a box” to serve the sanction in the stands.

He resumed 14th with a fifth of the 57 -round race finished.

After having bitten, Piastri appeared with the duo Ferrari Leclerc and Hamilton in front of him, while Norris made his way through the pack in sixth.

The Australian was soon back in front when the two Ferrari were summoned for a change of shoes.

Verstappen did not cut a satisfied figure of Bahrain, growled with his pitlans: “I can no longer even brake, it’s ridiculous.”

Halfway, Piastri led from Russell, with Leclerc exceeding Norris in third.

With the safety car then deployed to collect debris at Turn Three, Piastri took the opportunity to dive into the stands for a “free” stop, followed by its closest pursuers.

The restart was maniac, with the chaos behind Piastri while Norris muscled in front of Hamilton who underlined “Lando exceeded me from the track”.

Norris made the post, but just at the top, the road exceeded the seven times champion.

By entering the end of the race affairs, Piastri turned the screw to get rid of Russell while Norris rushed to Leclerc.

There was no one happier in the crowd than the sovereign of Bahrain, King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, whose sovereign fund has McLaren.
