The Indian superstar Ajay Devgn has teamed up with the Vishwa Samudra group to launch Devgn Cinex, the new identity of the cinemas of New York, at the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja held at the Sndt Women’s College of Juhu. Bollywood Hungama was the first to report the launch recently. The brand change event has attracted members of the city’s cultural and cinematographic communities, marking an important moment for cinema in India.

The ceremony began with the Durga Puja celebrations and continued with the unveiling of the Devgn Cinex logo in the midst of cheers, music and lights. The brand change reflects the partnership between Vishwa Samudra and New York cinemas, aimed at improving the cinematographic experience with improved theaters, modern technology and national expansion.
Speaking during the launch, Ajay Devgn said: “Durga Puja is a celebration of tradition, conviviality and shared joy. In many ways, cinema does the same, it brings people closer through stories. And what a better day than today to announce the public in its own right.
Shivdutt DAS, Director General of Group of Vishwa Samudra, added: “Devgn Cinex is more than a new name; It is a vision of transforming cinemas into spaces of innovation, comfort and culture. We are committed to expanding this brand through India. ”
With its beginnings, Devgn Cinex announced its intention to introduce premium formats, while taking advantage of modern digital technologies, including an AI, application platforms and web, customer engagement tools and reward programs to create transparent experiences for moviegoers. The company has also described its strategic emphasis on the expansion between metros, level 1 cities, and the strengthening of its imprint in the south of India in the years to come.
Mr. Satisfy Kottakota, chief executive officer, Ny Cinemas, added: “Devgn Cinex is ready to extend his footprint with new screens planned across the country. Our immediate objective will be metros and cities at level 1, especially in southern India, where appetites for cinema are inprimees.
The launch, held during the North Bombay Durga Puja, a cultural gathering place for the creative community of Mumbai since 1948 added a feeling of heritage and meaning for the event. The ceremony attended actress Kajol, the wife of Ajay Devgn and Mrs. Sonam Shivdutt as special guests.
