In 2021, the project was intended for a quick turnaround, with release plans next year. However, after almost five years of small progress and only sporadic updates, reports now suggest that Padukone will no longer appear on the screen in the film. Instead, she will assume the role of producer exclusively, supervising what is described as a “creative and logistical restart” of the project.
A midday report has cited a source saying: “This time, Deepika will move away in the film to serve only as a producer, supervising creative and logistical restart. A new head woman is being distributed to play the role she had to play. ”
According to La Source, the decision is part of the broader career change from Padukone to creation and narration. “The trainee is the first of the five projects she plans to set up during the coming year. She seeks to tell stories worldwide,” added the initiate.
The 2015 Original Hollywood film, directed by Nancy Meyers, played Robert de Niro as a senior intern in a fashion start-up, alongside Anne Hathaway. The story has already been adapted to Japan as a television drama in 2022 Licorn nor NotteWith Hidetoshi Nishijima in the role of de Niro and Mei Nagano in the part of Hathaway.
With Padukone, now behind the camera, the cast for the main role in the Hindi remake is underway.
