The world champion seven times Lewis Hamilton shared his enthusiasm on social networks after visiting Ferrari’s headquarters in Maranello for the first time on Monday. Hamilton is preparing for his inaugural season with the legendary team, Ferrari, after having made the passage from Mercedes to replace Carlos Sainz and his partner Charles Leclerc. Hamilton published another update, with a photo of him standing outside the factory in a completely black acute suit, alongside a Ferrari F40 sports car. The British pilot expressed his gratitude for having realized his race dream for Ferrari.
“A few days ago that you know that you will remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of these days. I was lucky to have achieved things in my career that I never believed possible, but part of me has always kept this racing dream in red. I could not be happy to realize than Dream today,” Hamilton wrote in an Instagram post.
“Today, we are starting a new era in the history of this emblematic team, and I can’t wait to see what story we are going to write together,” he added.
This week, Hamilton should perform various pre-season tasks in Maranello, including the members of the meeting team and the completion of simulator work, before its first car, but to be confirmed, in a Ferrari F1 car.
Hamilton finished the last season of Formula 1 behind the Mercedes teammate, George Russell, in seventh place with 223 points, including two racing victories in the British GP and the Belgian GP. Hamilton played his latest race with Mercedes at the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi last month and finished fourth ahead of Russell to end his 11 -year association with the Arrows Silver.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli, 18, will fill Hamilton’s shoes in Mercedes for the coming season with Valtteri Bottas in reserve.
