Shraddha Kapoor is on board director Rahi Anil Barve’s next film Pahadpangira. Putting an end to earlier speculation about her departure, the actor is not only expected to lead the Dark Fantasy project but also plans to contribute in a creative role alongside her acting duties. A report from Mid-Day states that Kapoor is captivated by the originality of the story and is actively offering his creative input, with the possibility of serving as a creative producer for the film.

Apparently, the filming of Pahadpangira is expected to begin in mid-2026, following Barve’s work on his Netflix series “Rakt Bramhand.” Kapoor will begin shooting after completing Laxman Utekar’s project later this year. The lineup highlights Shraddha’s growing involvement in projects that push the genre’s boundaries, and her commitment speaks to her confidence in the film’s potential to evolve into a franchise.
Pahadpangira is described as a dark fantasy rooted in myth and folklore, addressing themes of feminism within the historical context of Sati practice. It is assumed that Barve initially conceptualized Pahadpangira as part of the Tumbbad universe, but then reinvented it as a standalone feature film after parting ways with producer Sohum Shah. Meanwhile, Ektaa R Kapoor has been roped in to the project as a producer.
On the other hand, Shraddha Kapoor recently made headlines by announcing the theatrical animated film Chhoti Street during the trailer launch event for Thamma. Sharing his excitement, Kapoor said, “Guys, Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is coming out with Chhoti Street like an animated film! It will be released in theaters. It will be a dhamaal film for children, families, basically, for everyone. » She added: “This is a really exciting time for India. It’s truly incredible to be part of this universe.”
