How has life changed since the release of Saiyaara?
It was incredible. What was so encouraging to know is that the love I got for all my past films. I was spotted Saiyaara And that led to a chain reaction. Fans and the public connected all the points of Woh Lamhe (2006) to Awarapan (2007) at Aashiqui 2 (2013) to Bad ek (2014). Therefore, he did good to know that people have appreciated the hard work and the sincerity of so many years.
This is the first time that meme pages downloads messages about you, right?
Yes, it has never happened to me before. What I did is that there is a lot of love that fans had for me from my first film, Woh Lamhe. But now social media is much more aggressive than 10 years ago. Therefore, my reading and understanding are that love was always there. It just came out now and it’s encouraging.

In cinemas in India, people go crazy, especially during the peak of Saiyaara. Have you had the chance to see it from the first hand?
Unfortunately, I am not in India. I missed that. But I saw stuff on social networks. It is the dream of each artist that something you have been part of the connection with the public. This is why we are in the company – to make a difference and move the public. So, I guess the film hit the right note (smiles).
How was it to play Rockstar? Have you been inspired by real musicians like Honey Singh, Badshah, etc.?
I transformed myself physically while I was bored with my appearance. As an actor, when you are unemployed, you say to yourself: ‘ChalleLet’s do something. ” Mohit noticed my physical transformation because we are friends. He suggested my name to the casting director of Yash Raj Films, Shanoo Sharma, and sent my new photos. I was one of the zinitals, the plan was to give me long hair. Mohit entered the makeup room during the look. He saw and said, “No, it doesn’t work”. I agreed: “Yes, I agree. Jam Nahin Raha Hai ‘. He asked me if I would like to braid my hair. We went there and it worked. Touchwood, the character worked, just like the film. People have now noticed my hard work and my sincerity. I hope that other directors also take note of the actor that I am, more than anything else.
Do you have calls from the film industry after the release of Saiyaara?
Yes, and it feels good. They appreciated that I looked incredible, whether Emraan Hashmi or Aditya Roy Kapur. Rohit Dhawan called me and said to me, “Oh my God, you look so different”. It was very kind of him.
How did it work with Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda?
I had this scene with Ahaan and Aneet on the first day. I watched Mohit and said to him, “These children are damn good, guy”! He replied: “Yes, they are”. They were very anchored, soft and confident of their competence. I can say that I was one of the first who finished a scene with them and said to Mohit: “These two are stars”. Mohit asked, “Do you think yes?”. I replied, “100%”. I also told Aneet and Ahaan. They asked me, “Are you sure?”. I replied: “I assure you that you will both do very well.”. They asked, “What if it doesn’t happen?”. I replied, “It will happen because you deserve it both. You are both so good ‘! I’m proud to say “I told you” (smiles).
It’s not like Maine Kuch Khaas Dekh Liya. It was there. They were good in their skills and their performances, and that is the need.
Did you say “I told you like this” to Mohit Suri too?
Of course (smiles). We talked. Finally, he got his due. He made around 14 to 15 films of different kinds. He made thrillers, love stories, action, etc. out of 14, half of them were great successes and each of them had great music directly from Zeher (2005). I cannot think of any mohit Suri movies which had no successful music. He deserves all the distinctions for his 20 years of hard work and work.
