India, Bangladesh Play Out Goalless Draw In 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers

India did not start that they were looking for in their third -round qualifying match of the AFC 2027 Asian Cup when they played a goalless draw on the familiar rivals on Tuesday. Bangladesh was slightly the best side in the first half with more attack movements and corner kicks, but without any clear chance. India has implemented a much better performance in the next 45 minutes, putting Bangladesh in great pressure, but the chances were rare.
In the 12th minute, the goalkeeper of India Vishal Kaith made an error when he launched the ball in an opposition player. Mohammed Ridoy jumped on the deviation and sent a left footer of an angular position in the open net, but under the underlying bose produced a clearance of the goal line.
The best chance in India came in the 31st minute, but the head of Udanta Singh on a Colaco Colaco Croix on the left failed to beat the Bangladesh goalkeeper, Mitul Marma.
In a dominant display of the second half for India, Bose made a bold long -range effort which beat the goalkeeper of Bangladesh all along, but missed the left corner of the net by inches in the 68th minute.
Five minutes later, Farukh Choudhary’s right footer went just after a defense of a Bangladais defender.
The 84th minute saw the star striker Sunil Chhetri obtaining a free head inside the Bangladesh box, but his efforts were lacking in steering and power.
Bangladesh midfielder Hamza Choudhury, who is currently playing Sheffield United on loan from Leicester City, of the English Premier League City, could not do much for most of the match.
India had entered the match after a 3-0 battery of the Maldives on March 19 in an international friend with the return of the striker of Mark Talismanic Chhetri in national colors and the first victory of Manolo Marquez as a chief coach.
Marquez has brought five changes compared to the team that defeated the Maldives, bringing Boris Singh Thangjam, Udanta Singh Kumam, Lalengmawia Ralte, Sandesh Jhingan and Farukh Choudhary.
He also put the captain’s armband from Jhingan and seemed to firmly had his plans in place on a slippery field of the Lush Jawaharlal Jawaharlal Stadium.
However, Bangladesh had the opportunity to take the lead in a few seconds after the start when Kait’s unstable authorization landed directly at Mojibor Jony. At the relief of the Indians, the shot from the Bangladesh midfielder crashed against the lateral net.

The next match of the qualification round of India, however, will be against Hong Kong on June 10 in Kowloon.
India is placed in group C of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifying the third round with Bangladesh, Hong Kong and Singapore, and only the best team after six home and outside games qualify for the continental centerpiece.
