Gauahar Khan spoke out against disinformation surrounding the deliveries of Caesareans, following a controversial remark made by actor Suniel Shetty during an interview. Shetty had congratulated his daughter Athiya Shetty for having chosen a natural delivery, in which he had qualified the cesarean delivery procedure “comfort that everyone wants” – a comment that attracted massive online counterpouss.

Addressing this in the first episode of his new digital series Maaanoranjan, Gauahar has not retained what she considers as a harmful stereotype. “There was something that had said by a great personality recently that the cesarean was an easier option. I mean, what? I want to cry about my voice and ask” how can you say that? “” She said, visibly frustrated. The actress stressed that these myths are not only false but also disdainful of pain and the reality of childbirth in all its forms.
“There are so many myths linked to the cesarean, one of them being that it is an easier option. I don’t know what to say. How can there be so much disinformation? And for a male celebrity to say that, which did not really have a pregnancy, who did not carry a child, who does not know painful of a painful cesarean … “, she continued. Gauahar added that the decision between natural and cesarean deliveries is often out of the control of a woman and does not define her strength or experience as a mother. “Let me put this straight-having a normal childbirth or a cesarean is not in the hands of a woman. Some women can deliver normally, while some cannot and it is completely natural, and if they opt for the cesarean section, then they do not choose the easier route; it is just a myth,” she insisted.

Both are just as difficult, and both give you the same feeling of maternity.
The actress’s frank and powerful answer resonated with a lot online. Meanwhile, addressing the reaction, the actor Suniel Shetty also apologized for his remark and insisted that his statements were misinterpreted.
