“Goosebumps”: KL Rahul Gets Special Praise From Father-In-Law Suniel Shetty For Celebration vs RCB

KL Rahul played one of the most memorable celebrations of IPL 2025 when the Capitals of Delhi (DC) beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) earlier in the season. Rahul, from Bengaluru, broke 93 unbeaten bullets to bring DC to victory, and followed him with an explosive celebration. Rahul made a brand on Chinnaswamy’s field with his bat, then exclaimed “this is my field”. This celebration was lapped by fans, and Rahul even received a particular appreciation from his stepfather Suniel Shetty.

The actor Suniel Shetty, the father of the wife of Kl Rahul, Athiya, spoke of his reflections on the celebration of the striker.

“I loved it. Even when I see it now, I receive goosebumps. Each cricket player should have a moment like that.” I can do it, and I did it. “You know, it was one of the first times I called him and I said how much I loved him,” said Suniel Shetty, speaking on Star Sports.

Rahul – who played for RCB – made the celebration by helping DC hunt a goal of 164 with more than two letters to lose.

“I think it came after the World Cup and the world testing championship, he showed that he could finish, and he believes in himself,” added Shetty.

Shetty also explained how Rahul adapted, both as a player and in a mental perspective in the middle of the pressure of pressure and expectations on social networks.

“In the past, it did a lot of net sessions, a lot of functional training. I think he realized that he wanted to take advantage of the sport now. People often say that a cricket player plays too slowly, or they accuse him of playing too quickly and being irresponsible. It is not only KL Rahul – a lot of cricket that I saw to try to find this balance,” said Shetty.

“There is pressure from social media and elsewhere too. I think these young people are often stuck between the two. But this time, he (Rahul) believes that he must express himself. And he probably feels that there is more joy in hitting six and on the limits than to play stable cricket. It is the change I see,” added Shetty.

Rahul carried out 371 points at a striking rate of 146 in nine outings for Delhi Capitals (DC), which had bought it for Rs 14 crore in the mega auction IPL 2025.
