Harry Kane On Verge Of First Career Trophy As Bayern Munich Eye Bundesliga Title

After a career of individual awards, but no team honors, the breakthrough of the title of the Bayern Munich striker, Harry Kane, could arrive from the home match on Saturday. If they beat sixth place, Mainz and the second Bayer Leverkusen fail to beat Augsburg at home, Bayern and Kane will be crowned with the winners of Bundesliga. Bayern is clear eight points with four games to play, so a first title for Kane is a simple formality. But after losing six finals – three with Tottenham, two with England and one with Bayern – a title in title would be a long -awaited award for the 31 -year -old striker.

After two decades at the Boyhood Club Tottenham, Kane moved to Bayern in 2023, motivated by a desire for team honors.

While Bayern’s dreams of winning the Champions League in their own stadium this season have ignited with a defeat in the quarter-final against Inter Milan, raising the Bundesliga shield would appease the frustrations after a 2023-24 trophy.

Kane rarely talked about the title, preferring to focus on the task to be accomplished, but in February, he revealed how much the pursuit of a team honor led him.

“There are a lot of people who, throughout my career, only talk about the fact that I have not yet won a title. It would be good to silence a few,” said Kane.

Kane would also join Kevin Keegan and Owen Hargreaves as the English who won the Bundesliga.

Speaking with Sky Germany on Wednesday, the Bayern Power -Broker Uli Honess – a key player in the decision of 100 million euros (105 million dollars) to bring Kane to Bavaria – said “that nobody deserves the title more” than the captain of England.

Calling Kane “a real Bayern player”, an praise lavished the attacker, saying “he fights, he works, he scores an incredible number of goals, but he also works hard for the team.

“You can feel that he absolutely wants to win this title.”

On Saturday, Eintracht Francfurt can take a step in the qualification for the Champions League thanks to a top four for the first time, when they welcome RB Leipzig.

Frankfurt, whose only other participation in the Modern Champions League came by winning the Europa League, is three points from Leipzig, fourth.

Leipzig could fall as low as sixth with a loss, while Borussia Dortmund, seventh – which has taken 10 of the 12 possible points in their last four games – are also at a distance from the strike.

One to watch: Yussuf Poulsen (RB Leipzig)

The trip from RB Leipzig to the third Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday will be crucial in the race in the Champions League.

Leipzig only missed the Champions League once since their promotion in 2016 and being absent from the first European scene would be a major setback while the new boss of Red Bull, Jurgen Klopp, supervises his first dead with the club.

Leipzig striker Yussuf Poulsen said Klopp had already gone to the club “several times” and had made a brand with his “experience, passion and knowledge. All his career demonstrates what he is capable of”.

Poulsen joined when Leipzig was in the third division in 2013, before two successive promotions, consecutive German cuts and a semi-final of the Champions League.

He told AFP on Wednesday “there is not enough room in the sky so that we can achieve this development”, but said “the next step for this club is to win titles regularly”.

Key statistics
