From Inter-School Cricket To Rs 13 Crore IPL Contract: Inside KKR Star Rinku Singh’s Journey

Kolkata Knight Riders Patters Rinku Singh, which has increased to its impressive power in power in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the franchise, spoke of its cricket trip while helping to prepare the authentic Kolkata style biryani in an episode of Knight Bite. While helping to prepare the aromatic Kolkata Biryani, with its signing potato – an essential ingredient, according to the host and chief Kunal Kapur – Rinku reflects at his beginnings in cricket.
“I was studying at modern school, and there was an interschilder tournament. Some people saw my performance and invited me to play because they saw how good I was with the tennis ball,” recalls Singh about his very first cricket match.
The talented left -hander revealed his impressive start in cricket. “When I went to the stick and the match finished, I scored 54 points in 32 balls. This is where my cricket trip started.”
Discussing his first international match for India, Rinku admitted feeling nervous: “When you play for India, and you realize what you started to chat, you feel a little anxious. In my first match, I couldn’t beat, just doing pen, and it had become normal, so I was a little worried.
One of the most touching moments came when Rinku talked about his tattoo that reads “God’s plan, beautifully made” next to time “2:20” – the exact moment that has changed his life forever. “When I was chosen by KKR in 2018 for RS 80 Lakh, this amount was huge for me and my family. We did not have much money before that. My family’s life has completely changed. The marriages of my brothers and sisters have become easier, and we even bought a house with this money,” shared the emotional strike.
“This is why I obtained this tattoo with the family written here. It was exactly 2:21 or 2:20 when I was chosen, and everything changed from that moment,” he added, pointing the tattoo that symbolizes his special link with the Kolkata franchise.
While the delicious Biryani continued to cook with his aromatic spices, Rinku participated in a fun game where he correctly identified famous Bengali candies, notably Rasgulla, Jalebi and Gulab Jamun, showing his familiarity with the culture of Kolkata.
He was then joined by his teammates Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Moeen Ali, who were impressed by his skills in the kitchen while the three shared the meal together.
