On Sunday, the Pakistani Federation of Volleyball said that India had withdrawn its Volleyball contingent in Central Asia next month in Islamabad. The PVF manager Abdul Ahad said that India confirmed the sending of a team of 30 members, including 22 players for the championship from May 28 at the Jinnah complex. After the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, where 26 tourists were killed, diplomatic tension developed between the two nations. “Indian volleyball officials informed the regional organization that their government had canceled the CNO issued for the tournament after the pahalgam incident,” Ahad said.
“It is disappointing to know that India has retired from the championship and they will be replaced by Afghanistan or Sri Lanka.” Iran, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan teams should participate in the event.
