On Friday, the High Court of Delhi interviewed the former director of Zonal of the drug control office (NCB), Sameer Wankhede, on the maintainability of its advocacy in defamation against the entertainment of the Red Chillies Chillies of Shah Rukh Khan and Netflix. The officer had approached the court to request a permanent and compulsory injunction, a declaration and damage for what he described as a “false, malicious and defamatory” representation in the Bollywood web *** DS series.

Judge Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav asked Wankhede to establish how his plea was kept in Delhi and if a cause of action had appeared in the national capital. According to the observations of the Court, the court was a key question to decide the eligibility of the petition.
In response, Wankhede’s lawyer, the main lawyer Sandeep Sethi, argued that the series was available for streaming in Delhi and was seen by the city’s public, which has an impact on the reputation of its client locally. The court, however, ordered Wankhede to modify his plea to specifically demonstrate how a cause of action had appeared in Delhi.
Wankhede, who has acquired national importance for investigating the drug case on drugs on the Croise, asked Rs. 2 Broves in damages. Interestingly, he asked that the amount, if granted, be given to the Tata Memorial Cancer hospital for the treatment of cancer patients.
The advocacy allegedly alleged that the controversial series, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and broadcast on Netflix, was deliberately conceptualized and executed to Malive the reputation of Wankhede. He also argued that the calendar was detrimental, given that the related procedures involving Wankhede and Aryan Khan are still in the process of the Bombay High Court and the NDPS Special Court in Mumbai.
According to Wankhede’s claims, the show includes an obscene gesture – specifically showing the middle finger after having pronounced the slogan “Satyamev Jayate”, which is part of the national emblem of India. The advocacy described this law as a “serious violation” of the 1971 law on the prevention of insults in the national honor, which could attract criminal consequences under Indian law.
In addition, the petition said that the web series had violated the provisions of the Information Technology Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) by promoting offensive and obscene content which not only had its reputation but also indignant the national feeling.
The High Court asked Sameer Wankhede to strengthen the jurisdictional basis of its plea, the next hearing should determine whether the defamation trial can continue in Delhi. Until then, the controversy surrounding the Bollywood BA *** DS continues to prepare, placing the Netflix and Red Chillies entertainment under the legal projectors.
