IPL 2025 Points Table: Top Two Race Wide Open After PBKS’ Loss vs DC

The young Sameer Rizvi struck a high-quality young girl and half a century after Karun Nair marked her return to the Indian test team with a vital blow while Delhi’s capital won a six-track victory over Punjab Kings to finish their IPL season on a positive note on Saturday. Setting a rigid target of 207, DC finished the task in 19.3 Overs, Rizvi, 21, remaining undefeated on 58 on 25 balls, including five six and three. Nair had previously contributed 44 to 27 deliveries with two six and five four.
With the loss, PBKS is not yet assured of a top two finish, although they are still in the first two.
It was after Marcus Stoinis put his capacities of large capacities before after the sparkling half-century of Shreyas Iyer while the Kings of Punjab displayed a difficult 206 for eight.
Given their recent record, it seemed to be a difficult target for Delhi, but Impact Sub KL Rahul (35 on 21 balls) and the Plessis stand-in Faf FAF skipper (23 out of 15) provided a good start, quickly adding 55 points in less than six overs to keep them in the game.
Having played beautiful blows, including a beautifully timed timetable through the coverage point of Azmatullah Omarzai and a spectacular Straight Six Off Harpreet BRAR, Rahul was released with harmless delivery when he cut a slow rhythm of Marco Jansen for a Shashank Running Singh to finish the capture.
Recalled in the Indian test team after eight years, Karun Nair started his sleeves with a six leg on Jansen.
Du Plessis wasted his departure and in what turned out to be a gentle dismissal, the experienced South African found Priyansh Arya in the back after failing to keep his cut.
The Praveen Dubey leg spinner, which rejected Sediqulah Atal (22 out of 16), was affected for four successive limits by Nair while DC reached 111 for three in 11th.
When Nair was upset by BRAR at a crucial stadium, it seemed difficult for DC.
Earlier, Stoinis flambé to a 44 ball of 16 balls and not released after Iyer installed it with a delivery of 53 points 34. Stoinis struck four six and three to four during his stock.
By opting for Bowl, DC experienced early success while Priyansh Arya (6) raised a Ballon with Mustafizur Rahman slices (3/33) which cramped the dough for the room and the Tristan Stubs Window Guardian took a few steps back to complete a neat capture after the ball went very high.
Josh Inglis has resumed a few limits of Mukesh. Prabhsimran Singh struck one on Mustafizur’s ground for a four before giving the shot to Inglis, who launched the seam of the left arm for a maximum on the square back.
Prabhsimran found two ovens off the coast of Mohit Sharma before Vipraj Nigam (2/38) closes the power game with a hectic event in which he was welcomed with six and a four by Inglis before representing the Australian leg counter while the shot was intelligently struck in the side of the leg by Stubs after the young jambe of the leg, striker on Googly.
This introduced the skipper in the middle of Pbks Iyer and he started his sleeves with a border.
Meanwhile, Prabhsimran struck the first ball of the Kuldeep Yadav match (2/39) for a six before finding the strings against Nigam, which, however, had the last laugh again, while the striker inside the ball on the strain while trying to play the scoop.
Prabhsimran’s dismissal left the PKBS at 77 for three in the ninth, but Iyer was not disrupted when he was swept away for a six on deep midwicket.
Nigam, which has a brilliant future and could be a competitor for the next T20 World Cup, overthrew a tight 10th while PBKS reached 97 for three halfway. Mohit also helped to tighten things up in his next two Overs.
Mustafizur used the angle to force Shashank Singh on board on Stubbs, but Mukesh was wasted the advantage of DC by conceding 25 points in a more marked by two six, two and three extras.
The Iyer blow finally ended when he hit Kuldeep directly to Mohit, who dropped Marcus Stoinis into the precious ball.
Mohit paid for this drop of drop while Stoinis struck it for 22 points.
