Virat Kohli broke the Book of Records of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday after having crushed 62 (33) in the narrow victory of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on the Super Kings of Chennai (CSK). It was the fourth consecutive half-century of Kohli from IPL 2025, and a seventh record of the tournament of this season. Held to X (formerly Twitter), Irfan Pathan criticized the criticisms for questioning Kohli’s intention in the previous match, where he scored a slow 47-ball 51 in a low score match. Pathan stressed how Kohli can not only anchor the sleeves, but also be aggressive when he wishes.

“He can anchor the sleeves, as he made the last match with a typing rate nearly 100. He can become aggressive, as today with a typing rate of 187. He is the real white ball cricket champion. He is Virat Kohli!” Pathan published on X.

Rollicking 62 (33) by Kohli, interrupted with five limits and five imposing maximums, was sufficient to rewrite some chapters of the history book. Its recreational release was wrapped in belligerent and its brand shot, was its fourth consecutive score of 50 years for RCB in the league rich in cash.

Kohli also crossed the 300 Sixes bar for RCB. With five other maximums to his credit, he now has 304 six for the Royal Challengers.

It was Kohli’s second attempt at the feat for the Royal Challengers, having done so in 2016. Kohli’s Srizling 62 marked his 10th 50 -year -old score against Chennai, the highest of all the players in IPL history. He exceeded the emblematic opening trio of Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and David Warner, who each have nine scores over 50 against Super Kings.

With another story of domination against Super Kings, Kohli now has 1,146 points against Chennai in IPL, the highest of all players against a team. He improved 1,134 of David Warner against the kings of Punjab.

Virat’s effortless masterclass has laid the foundations for Bengaluru’s publication at 213/5 on the board of directors. In response, CSK failed the target of only two points despite the brilliant blow of 94 (48) by Ayush Mhatre.
