Jaat controversy: Jalandhar police file FIR against Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, over a scene allegedly offending Christian community : Bollywood News
A FIR was filed against the actors of Bollywood Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda and Vineet Kumar Singh for having pretended to injure religious feelings through a scene in their film recently released Jaat.

Jalandhar police filed the case on Wednesday under article 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with deliberate and malicious acts intended to offend religious feelings. The complaint also appoints the film director, Gopichandh Malineni, and his producers.
According to the complainant, a particular scene of the film, which was created on April 10, “deeply harmed the religious feelings of the whole Christian community”. The complaint also alleges that the scene has shown lack of respect for Jesus Christ.
The scene in Jaat would allegedly represent the character of Randeep Hooda standing under a crucifix inside a church, directly above the sacred pulpit, while people are engaged in prayer. He would have acts of intimidation and disruptive behavior.
The complainant said: “The director, writer and producer deliberately released this film during the sacred month of Good Friday and Easter so that Christians get angry and that the riots broke throughout the country and that the disorders are distributed.”
Sunny Deol’s latest action film Jaat Stars Randeep Hooda as the main antagonist. The support cast includes Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Regna Cassandrra, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab and Jagapathi Babu.
Jaat also mark the beginnings in the Hindi director of Gopichandh Malineni, who is known for his work at the Telugu cinema with films like Don seedu,, BodyguardAnd Veera Simha Reddy.
The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, and released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. He has tasted on Rs. 60 Box-Office crores so far.
Thursday, Sunny Deol confirmed that he would return to the big screen with a suite entitled Jaat 2.
