Jaydev Undadkat Blames Poor Bowling Attack For SRH’s Poor Run In IPL 2025

Looking at an early outing, the Indian stimulator Jaydev Unadkat opened up to the Fourillant Sunrisers Hyderabad campaign, attributing their disappointing performance to the ineffective bowling alley and changing height conditions. The SRH is almost out of the playoff race after having been defeated 38 points against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on Friday. “According to my gaming experience in the IPL, for a team to do well, there must be at least three or four guys, in terms of bowling alley, which must contribute to each game. And probably this year, I would say that we lack this when two guys have done bowling, the other three are probably not really bowling in tandem,” the reporters told Unadkat.
By opting for the first bowl, SRH failed to contain the GT Top Order, which displayed a difficult 224 for six. Unadkat managed to pick up three counters in the final on the sleeves.
“As if we look at the partnerships in terms of striker, I think it’s the same thing in the bowling alley too. Because when you don’t bowl on both ends, it creates unnecessary pressure on the other guy. And then the plans also change. So, we must therefore blame the best bowling in the tournament,” he said.
“When you want to win games, you have to be the best. And we haven’t been the best. I can’t say that there is something that we lack in terms of practice, training and planning. It’s just the execution on the field, which can sometimes go wrong.” SRH had reached the final last season on their approach to ultra-aggressive striker. This year too, Pat Cummins and Co. started his campaign with a blow, displaying a Mammoth 286 for six against the Royals of Rajasthan. However, they lost momentum afterwards and are now second at the bottom with only three victories and seven defeats in 10 games.
“Last year, we scored more than 200 games in four or five games, which gave us the impression that we have established a standard. But that cannot always be the standard. Other teams and strikers are better now, and the quenches are also adapting and proposing new strategies,” said Unadkat.
“Last year, Swing was sufficient to have an impact, but this year, it is a question of effectively using variations. In addition, the terrains play a big role. Last year, we had a lot of flat terrains, when this time, we had the most difficult. This is why we could not wear the same time.” On Friday, SRH took a promising start of prosecution, but finally failed, managing 186 for six in their 20 Overs.
Unadkat blamed the sloppy bowling and the bad alignment for their loss against GT.
“Listen, honestly, we thought we could have limited them to around 200. We did not work well and that was a reason-perhaps some abandoned sockets and some errors were the reason why we gave these 20-25 additional points.
“When you bowl first, you want to restrict or get early counters. We cannot and at the same time, we also gave a few more points in the PowerPlay … We could not simply capitalize in the shot sleeves too. They also played in the right areas, executed their plans better than us.”
Coetzee praises GT strikers for consistency
Gerald Coetze of Gujarat Titans, who returned to action and took one for 36 in his first game of the season, praised his team’s first -order strikers for their remarkable coherence.
“I think the strikers were very consistent. They just play good crickets. I think there is not much slogging. So that may not be so flashy, but I mean, he does the job perfectly,” said the South African.
