Lovlina Borgohain Boxes Her Way To Gold, Shiva Thapa Signs Off With Silver At National Games

Tokyo’s Olympic bronze medalist, Lovlina Borgohain, won the 75 kg female gold, while the six times Asian champion Shiva Thapa signed with a silver medal in the male category of 63.5 kg at the national games in Dehradun on Friday. Playing her first tournament from the Paris Olympic Games, Lovlina d’Assam dominated her younger Pranshu Rathore opponent from Chandigarh through the three towers to record a convincing 5-0 victory. In the Light Welters Weight Division (63.5 kg), Thapa lost in an oath against the boxer of the Vanshaj sports control board, with a 3-4 score.
