Marseille, Monaco Clinch Champions League Qualification From Ligue 1

The brilliant late strike from Mason Greenwood helped Marseille beat Le Havre 3-1 in League 1 on Saturday and won the qualification for the Champions League for next season, while Monaco beat Lyon to guarantee its own place in the European upper table. The two games entered the penultimate evening of the French campaign knowing that victories and favorable results elsewhere could obtain a top three behind the Paris Saint-Germain champions with a match of the season to lose. Marseille did the work for the threat of relegation, Le Havre, but he seemed ready to be a frustrating night for them despite the friend Gouiri by putting the visitors.

The match was maintained for about half an hour in the second period due to troubles caused by the presence of supporters of Marseille in the original areas of the stadium, and when the action restarted Issa Soumare equalized for Le Havre.

However, Greenwood produced a moment of magic to put Marseille in front of a powerful strike long with five minutes to play, the goal of his 19th of the season in Ligue 1.

Gouiri then sealed the victory in time of time with his second in the match, leading to the coach Roberto de Zerbi in the sidelines to join the celebrations with his players and the itinerant fans.

While Marseille was not involved in any European competition this season, Monaco has reached the stadiums with direct elimination of the Champions League and they will be back among the continent’s elite during the next campaign.

The goals in the second half of Takumi Minamino and Denis Zakaria gave Monaco a 2-0 victory against Lyon in the Principality, taking a blow to the prospects of their opponents to obtain the price of the Champions League which they so desperately need.

Lyon is seventh with a match to be made, although they remain three points behind Nice in fourth and Lille and Strasbourg, which means that the last place in the Champions League will be challenged by this quartet next weekend.

Nice fell 2-0 in Rennes, for whom Arnaud Kalimuendo scored twice, while Lille was beaten 2-0 in Brest.

Ramos Hat-Trick for PSG

Meanwhile, Strasbourg suffered a surprise defeat of 2-1 in Angers, Esteban Lepaul marking the two goals for the local team to inflict a first defeat in 13 games in the Liam Rosenior team.

PSG has already finished a fourth consecutive title in Ligue 1 and rested several regulars for its 4-1 victory at the relegated Montpellier, three days after defeating Arsenal to reach the Champions League final.

The teenager Senny Mayulu opened the scoring for PSG, which had lost its last two national outings, and Goncalo Ramos then scored a tripled in the second half, including a penalty point and a sensational strike from the edge of the region.

Tanguy Coulibaly has removed one for Montpellier, who does not yet know that the identity of the second team is automatically relegated to the second level.

Saint-Etitienne remains second, but the goals of Florian Tardieu and Irvin Cardona gave them a 2-0 victory in Reims, which leaves the Greens to a point behind Le Havre in the dam point for relegation.

Le Havre is two points of pure and simple security, Nantes is not yet guaranteed to stand despite a 1-1 draw in Auxerre, and the finalists of the French Cup Reims are also at risk of going down.

Toulouse and the goal attracted 1-1 to the other match of the night, while earlier Lorient sealed the title Ligue 2 ahead of Paris FC, which are also promoted.
