Sanju Samson is expected to return as captain of the Royals Rajasthan after receiving authorization from the National Cricket Academy to keep the counters in the Indian Premier. Samson had undergone surgery on his right index after being struck by the former RR teammate and the stimulator of England Jofra Archer during the T20i series in India against England in February. He had not played in the first three games for the Royals of Rajasthan only as a specialized striker with Riyan Parag leading the team. While Samson was substituted during the opening of the RR season against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he was replaced in the competitions against Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, marking 66, 13 and 20 points.

“Captain of the Royals of Rajasthan, Sanju Samson, received authorization from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to resume his office as a guard keeper after a recovery period,” Rajasthan Royals said in a statement.

“Authorization comes after an in -depth assessment of its physical condition by the NCA medical team. With this positive development, Samson will return to its leadership role and will resume the captain of the next team match against the kings of Punjab.” The Royals of Rajasthan are currently placed last second at the table of points with a victory and two defeats in three games.

The champions of the inaugural edition in 2008, the Royals of Rajasthan will face the kings of Punjab in Mullanpur in their next match on April 5.
