The CLICKC control council in India (BCCI) warned all the stakeholders of the IPL about a Hyderabad businessman who tried to force individuals to commit potentially illegal acts. The BCCI has warned cricket players, coaches, support staff and commentators on the potential approaches of the businessman. According to a Cricbuzz report, the Anti-Corruption Security Unit (ACSU) believes that the businessman has links to bookmakers. The individual would have tried to befriend people in a recent past and would have tried to establish links with the people involved in the competition. The person would have been friends with people by offering them expensive gifts.
“One of the methods that would have been used by him is to approach the family members of franchise owners, players, coaches, support staff and even commentators,” said the report.
Meanwhile, before the fight of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025 against the Royals Rajasthan (RR), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Speedster Mayank Yadav joined the team led by the Rishabh Panta team before the first match of the 18th edition in the Caisse League.
Mayank is likely to play the next LSG match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday in Jaipur, according to the Espncricinfo report. His availability will be a massive boost for LSG, which started competition without him.
Lucknow’s Super Giants franchise has taken its handle on social networks and shared a video where Mayank Yadav obtained a warm welcome from the hotel staff. He also gave autographs to all hotel staff.
Mayank, 22, recovered from a back injury and had been out of service since October 2024, when he made his international debut and played three T20is against Bangladesh at home. He missed the whole domestic season due to a back injury suffered in the series and recovered at the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) Center of Excellence in Bengaluru.
Only ten days ago, the LSG Coach Justin Langer had watched the videos of the bowling player operating at “90 to 95%” and said that the stimulator would soon join the LSG camp.
