“Maybe I’ll Get Another Chance”: Ex-Pakistan Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed Hopes To Make A Comeback

The former Pakistani skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed is undoubtedly one of the best players in the country. Being his debut in 2007 in an ODI match against India, Sarfaraz scored 2,315 points in ODI, 3031 points in tests and 818 points in T20is. Under its captain, Pakistan also won the title of the 2017 Champions Trophy after defeating India during the confrontation at the top. However, Sarfaraz played for the last time for Pakistan in December 2023 in a test match against Australia and apparently fell from the scheme of things.
Before the 10th edition of the Pakistani Super League, Sarfaraz also joined Quetta Gladiators as a team director. Recently, he also opened speculations on his international retirement.
“I have not yet announced my retirement. When someone has played a cricket all their life, it is obviously bad to stay away from the game. There is a time when each player has to move away from the cricket, but I try to get the most out of the matches I receive,” said Sarfaraz in an interview with the Pakistan cricket.
Keeping his hopes with a living return, the 37 -year -old striker said that he would give 100% to his 100% if he still had a chance.
“I always keep a little hope so that I may have another chance. I never said that I had to play for Pakistan – of course, it is each player’s dream to represent their country. I just want to perform well throughout the cricket I play and 100%,” said Sarfaraz.
“When I think the time has happened, I will say it myself-yes, my cricket is over now,” he added.
The 37 -year -old man represented Pakistan in 54 tests, 117 ODI and 61 T20is, amazing 6,164 races on the three formats, including six centuries and 32 fiftya.
It was under its direction that Pakistan raised its first ICC Champions trophy in 2017 by crushing India in Rival Arch with a superb 180 -point victory in a successful final.
With Sarfaraz at the helm, Pakistan is victorious in 11 consecutive T20i series, the most by all the captains of the country.
Since then, he slowly found himself on the sidelines, offering his time for a possible breakthrough. He made his last appearance in the test in 2023 in Australia.
