Naomika Saran, Rajesh Khanna’s granddaughter, to debut in romantic comedy opposite Vedang Raina: Report : Bollywood News
The next chapter of the Khanna-Kapadia cinematic legacy is about to begin. Naomika Saran, granddaughter of iconic actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, is all set to make her Bollywood debut with a romantic comedy produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films.

The film, which is expected to hit the screens by mid-2026, will feature Naomika alongside Vedang Raina, who was last seen in Jigra (2024), produced by Alia Bhatt. According to a report by Mid-Day, the young debutante has been preparing extensively for her debut film over the past year, with acting and dance workshops aimed at honing her craft before she gets noticed.
Naomika is the daughter of Rinke Khanna, who made her acting debut in Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi (1998), and the niece of Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar. Despite belonging to one of Bollywood’s most famous families, Naomika remained largely out of the media gaze until recently, when her frequent visits to the Maddock Films office sparked speculation about her debut.
Interestingly, the project initially had Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda as the male lead. However, after discussions and scheduling conflicts, the role was recast with Vedang Raina. A source told Mid-Day, “Vedang and Naomika have great chemistry. When the team saw them together, it just clicked. Vedang is currently shooting for an Imtiaz Ali film and will move on to this project next.”
The romantic comedy would be directed by a new face from the Maddock Films stable, aligning with producer Dinesh Vijan’s current strategy of blending young talent and new age storytelling.
Unlike the typical fanfare that accompanies child stars’ debuts, Naomika’s team took a deliberate, low-key approach. “Dinesh and his team made it clear that they did not want to announce her debut until she was completely ready,” the source added.
