No Capital Gains For Delhi: Support Staff’s Poor Tactical Calls, Captain Axar Patel’s Dip In Bowling Form

The title IPL has escaped the Capitals of Delhi for 18 seasons now, and it will not be a surprise if the script is repeated during its 19th season. The Capitals of Delhi most often lost their IPL seasons at the auction table itself except for a few seasons when Ricky Ponting and Surav Ganguly had made a quality side. The unfortunate accident of Rishabh Pant created a void in the 2023 season and since then, things have again withdrew from boiling. The JSW management exchange in GMR (according to the agreement) also meant that the new coach staff titled by Hemang Badani and Venugopal Rao came with a new philosophy and also got rid of the pants before the auctions.
Parth Jindal, one of the DC co -owners did not chop the words when he said that “introspection” would be necessary on many aspects.
“Sorry for all Delhi Capital fans – like you, I am also in shock from the second half of the season. What started so well ended extremely bad. There are positive points to take away from this campaign, but for the moment, everything is focused on the next match we have to win.
“After the season, it will take a lot of introspection on many aspects,” wrote Jindal on “X”.
But it would be high time for Jindal and the chief of GMR, Kiran Grandhi, would need to sit through the table and admit that the management of the team two years at the same time is not a practical solution.
We can bet his last shirt that Venugopal Rao, Badani and Munaf Pate will not be found in the 2026 season – that too if they are persisted.
Although the team’s coaches staff could be frightened that the release of the pants were a cautious call by watching their disastrous show for LSG after an RS 27 record crores, but obtaining KL Rahul for half the price did not serve a lot of goal as an Indian test specialist could hardly win games where the pressure factor was high.
Delhi Capitals, previously the Daredevils of Delhi, were most often cheated at the auction table and, therefore, most of the seasons, they do not qualify for the playoffs.
This year, the beginning had surprised one and all. Halfway, they were in pole position by winning five of their first six games, but everything turned away with a magical delivery of Mitchell Santner who faced Karun Nair and DC lost the plot.
The biggest factor for DC would be to lose four of their five home games in Feroz Shah Kotla, a track that could not be deciphered properly by the coaches of Coaches de l’Inde de Venu, Badani and Munaf.
The trio was the support staff who guided Dubai’s capital to his title Maiden Irt20, but by removing Ricky Ponting (whose PBKS team has so far looked at one of the best) on this premise has been a very bad call from management.
If we use the football language, the coaches adapted to the “championship” (second English division) were responsible for a team of elite prime minister. The management of a ILT20 team is very different from the management of an IPL team.
The Troika had no idea of the type of combination operated in Kotla. Not that they have too many options to maneuver and beyond five foreigners, one being a Jake Fraser McGurk, they had no sixth reliable option to fall back.
Why was Abishek Porel (301 runs), the second highest Run recovery for DC, was avoided despite these departures? It requires an answer.
People are at the end of their minds on how a team can always lose home matches. Even the only match they won was a brilliant 20th and Super Super Over Bowled by Mitchell Starc, which was not returned after the IPL has resumed the suspension of a week.
This match against the Royals of Rajasthan was as good as lost.
Ditto for the opening match in Vizag where Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigam managed a breakage against LSG.
And the way things happened, the Dharamsala game that was arrested due to the attack on the Pakistani drone was clearly dominated by the kings of Punjab, which would have marked something between 220 and 240 if the sleeves had been completed.
Among the trio of coaching, Badani has a pedigree having worked with Sunrisers Hyderabad, but all those who are aware of the Indian coaches on the market would guarantee that there is not much to write at home.
There were murmurs in the IPL circuit on how the director of Venugopal Cricket, the younger brother, Gnaneshwara Rao, was roped as a field coach, who also when DC already had a coach abroad.
DC had decent performances but there were no exceptional outings.
Rahul had a season more than 500 points again and at a decent strike rate of more than 148.
But as in previous years with other franchises, Rahul races have strengthened its statistics but not that of the team.
Its century against the Gujarat titans was a good blow, but even then, the races lost in the power game cannot be overlooked.
Rahul is a fabulous player but the T20 grammar underwent a sea change and he was not good either during the big prosecution or when DC had to install large totals.
The biggest disappointment is surely the skipper Axar Patel and its bowling form are considerably considerably in this edition.
Five 12 -game counters and unfortunately not be available on a Wankhede track where Mitchell Santner worked his magic did not help his cause.
This season for DC certainly seemed to be one without any planning. Until the individuals won them matches, they looked good but beyond, it was the same old saga.
