“Incredible Batting”: Ex-India Star Praises Shubman Gill’s Masterclass Knock vs KKR

On a difficult field of Eden Gardens which offered few strokes, the skipper of Gujarat Titans (GT), Shubman Gill, produced a masterclass of striker to guide his team towards a convincing 39 -point victory on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during the first Indian League (IPL). The elegant 90 deliveries of 55 from Gill, dotted with 10 limits and 3 six, helped GT to display a formidable total which turned out to be beyond the scope of KKR. The old Indian paste and Jiostar expert, Ambati Rayudu, praised Gill, stressing how the young opener adapted to the slow surface and turned the momentum in favor of Gujarat.
“It all started with Rana’s hard bowling, these two big deliveries – Gill was struggling a little before that. But after that, he really found his rhythm,” said Rayudu on Jiohotstar.
“We have seen incredible shots-pure cricket strokes. Gill,” he added.
Gill, playing against his old franchise, looked at control once he started, anchoring the sleeves with grace while accelerating at key moments. His effort laid the foundations for the total of Gujarat, which was well defended by their questions despite KKR’s fire power.
The result marked the third victory of Gujarat over the trotting, while KKR collapsed in his fifth defeat of the season, finished his defense aspirations more. While the league scene intensifies, the GT skipper continues to lead before – once again proving why it is considered one of the most brilliant strikers in India.
Coming to the match, KKR won the draw and chose to play first. A stand of 114 points between Sudharsan (52 in 36 balls, with six four and six) and Gill, who went to mark 90 in 55 balls, with 10 four and three, served as a solid base for a large score. Then, a stand of 58 points between Gill and Jos Buttler (41 * in 23 balls, with eight four) brought GT to 198/3 in their 20 Overs.
Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell each obtained a counter for KKR.
During the race race, KKR, with the exception of their skipper Ajinkya Rahane (50 in 36 balls, with five four and a six), failed to lead a large part of the fight because superb spells by Prasidh Krishna (2/25) and Rashid Khan (2/25) reduced them to 159/8 at the end of their 20 Overs.
Gill received the “match player” for his 90 -point stroke.
KKR slipped in seventh place with three victories and their fifth defeat, while GT maintains his supremacy at the top with six wins and two defeats, which gave them 12 points.
